Lakeport, Ca –Outlaw Go-Karting at Lakeport Speedway hosted the 2nd Annual Turkey Shootout. Featuring a bonus $500 in the 500cc division drivers battled to come out on top and take home the prize money, trophy and prestigious title. Marking the 3rd point’s race of the season first time winners took the podium and the point’s battle tightened.

Beginner Box Stocks – Fast time was captured by Lane Anderson No. 44 (Fort Bragg) with a 11.427s lap. Trophy dash and heat race wins went to Dylan Bloomfield No. 32 (Discovery Bay). Anderson went on to win his first ever feature main event. Following Anderson in 2nd place Wade Wittman Jr No. 39 (Upper Lake), Brodi Snider No. 1k (Kelseyville), Trey Daniels No. 3 (Fort Bragg) and rounding out the top 5 Audrey Portlock No. 5b (Ukiah).

Box Stocks – Breaking the nine second barrier Kaiden Butler No. 22k (Willits) set fast time with a 9.704s lap. The trophy dash was won by Joel Meyers Jr. No. 46jr (Santa Rosa). Heat race and feature main event wins went to Skyler Cole No. 49 (Redding). Kimberly Sorrels No. 31 (Ukiah), Kinden Peacock No. 31k (Redding), Daniel Whitley No. 57 (Red Bluff), and Aiden Daniels No.8 (Fort Bragg) complete your top 5 finishers.

250cc- Missing fast time by only six thousandths, Colby Johnson No. 38 (Penngrove) padded his points lead over fast time Erik Nelson No. 10 (Lakeport) by capturing his third feature win of the season. Nelson set the pace with a 9.045s qualifying lap. Heat race win went to Dylan Washburn No. 7 (Upper Lake) with Johnson also capturing the trophy dash win. Also competing and finishing out the top 5 of the feature main event include Wyatt Hobart No. 23 (Fort Bragg) and Colby Furia No.97 (Cloverdale).

500cc- Fifteen 500’s lined up to compete for the added prize money and winning Turkey Shootout title. Super Late Model racer Jeremy Doss No.10 (Upper Lake) took fast time with a 8.756s lap, followed closely by Ren Eberhart No.14 (Santa Rosa) and Tyler Seavey No.91L (Sutter). Seavey claimed the trophy dash win and came in a very close second in the feature main event to Mikey Snider No.6k (Kelseyville). Micheal Britton No.94 (Ukiah) and Logan Seavey No.51 (Sutter) won their respective heat races. Snider started in the pole position and lead every lap of the 30 lap feature. Doss finished 3rd, Eberhart 4th and L. Seavey 5th.

Clone Karts- Expanding from three the previous weekend to five last Saturday the clone kart division displayed and exhibition race for the fans.

Lakeport, Ca – Saturday kicked off the season opener of the 2013/2014 Outlaw Go-Karting at Lakeport Speedway Indoor Series. Karts from all areas of Northern California with drivers spanning from age 5 to age 50 gathered to compete in the first of an eleven race championship series. The indoor series begins in November running steady every Saturday at the Lake County Fairgrounds through December then alternates weekends in January and February. Five different divisions competed with 5 different winners.
Beginner Box Stocks – Audrey Portlock #5b of Ukiah set fast time with a 10.995s lap followed by Brodi Snider #1k (Kelseyville) and Wade Whitman Jr. #39 (Upper Lake).  Racing on a 5hp Briggs and Stratton restricted motor Whitman Jr. went on to win his 8 lap heat race and 20 lap main event. Bringing in a close 2nd included Portlock, Snider in 3rd, Lane Anderson #44 (Fort Bragg) 4th and Trey Anderson #3 (Fort Bragg) rounding out your top 5 finishing positions.
Box Stocks – Fast time was set by Tyler Shipley #17 of Ukiah with a 9.729s lap. Skyler Cole #49 (Cottonwood) missed fast time by two hundredths of a second with a 9.749s lap. Cole redeemed himself by winning his heat race and taking the double checkered flag win in the 30 lap feature. Cole was followed by Kimberley Sorrels #31 (Ukiah), Shipley, Kindon Peacock #31k (Redding) and Kylie Daniels #7 (Fort Bragg).
250cc- At age 13 Colby Johnson #38 (Penngrove) is no stranger to setting the standards for the day’s events. With a blistering fast time of 8.765s lap Johnson wheeled his 250cc caged go-kart around the track collecting fast time, a heat race win, and the feature main event win. Unable to make it around Johnson, Angelo Cornett #55x (Chico) settled for 2nd, then Erik Nelson #10 (Lakeport), Colby Furia #97 (Cloverdale) and Josua Lewis #14j (Santa Rosa) were your top 5 finishers.
500cc/Open- It was quite the battle between Justin Kaye #21 (Ukiah) and Michael Britton #97 (Ukiah) all day. Kaye setting fast time (8.688s) went on to win his heat race and Britton (8.874) with a close 2nd won the trophy dash and feature main event. Kaye finished 2nd in the feature with Tess Mellor #22m (Santa Rosa) 3rd and Jodi Snider #1k (Kelseyville) 4th.
Sportsman- A class designed for ages 25+ to compete with only an age and weight restriction these karts are always fun to watch.  A Battle between father and son broke out when Lauren Snider #6k (Kelseyville) jumped behind the wheel with anticipation of finishing ahead of his son Andrew Snider #21k (Kelseyville). The battle came to a short end when A. Snider flipped his kart on lap one sending him to the back leaving L. Snider to charge ahead to 2nd place of the combined main event with the 500cc division. L. Snider continued on to win the feature for the Sportsman division followed by A. Snider who made his way back up to 2nd by the end of the race. Brian Rodello #27 (Lakeport) finished 3rd.

Lakeport, Ca – After a two week break in the 2012-2013 Indoor Outlaw Go-Karting at Lakeport Speedway, racing resumed Saturday. With only two points races left of the season competition was tight.

Beginner Box Stocks – Brody Petrie #2 (Napa) set fast time with a 10.416 second lap. Trophy dash winner Aiden Daniels #14 (Fort Bragg) continued on to a 4th place feature main event finish. Preston Carr #46 (Marysville) took home the feature main event win as well as his heat race win. The second heat race was won by Daniel Whitley #57a (Red Bluff). Petrie drove on to a close 2nd place finish followed by Whitley, Daniels, and Gio Martinez #18 (Sacramento).

Box Stocks – Current point leader Kaiden Butler #22k (Lakeport) set fast time with a 9.456 second lap and then drove his way to the front to capture the trophy dash win. Winning his first feature main event of the season Kyler Berry #69 (Redwood Valley) drove to the double checkered finish after winning his heat race. Remaining top 5 feature main event finishers include Kera Tellstrom #1k (Ukiah), Carlee Austin #10c (Santa Rosa), Wyatt Hobart #23 (Fort Bragg), and Kimberely Sorrels #31 (Ukiah).

250’s – Setting his 4th fast time of the season Kalib Henry #12 (Citrus Heights) completed his qualifying session with a 8.813 second lap. Eric Nelson #10 (Lakeport) won his 10 lap heat race. Colby Johnson #38 (Penngrove) won his trophy dash and went on to win the feature main event followed by point leader Henry, Kolby Berry #88 (Redwood Valley), Mikey Camacho #24c (Lakeport) and Nelson finishing 5th.

500’s – Cameron Austin #7c (Santa Rosa) set fast time with an 8.642 second lap. Double duty driver Keith Nelson won his trophy dash and finished a strong second in the feature main event. Michael Britton #94 (Ukiah) won the heat race but had to retire his kart for the night after a hard crash in the trophy dash. Point leader Jeremy Doss #10 (Upper Lake) increased his point lead by winning the feature main event. Rounding out the top 5 finishers include Jeremy Phillips #28p (Olivehurst), Cameron Austin #7c (Santa Rosa), and Kasey Horat #77kc (Lakeport).

Sportsman – Fighting hard late in the season Keith Nelson #6 (Ukiah) gained a few points on Chris Mack #25 (Cloverdale). Nelson set fast time with a 9.093 second lap, then continued on to win his trophy dash and heat race, falling short to Mack in the feature main event.

Lakeport, Ca – Points race #7 for the Indoor Outlaw Go-Karting at Lakeport Speedway 2012/2013 featured new winners and tightened points competition. With only three points race’s left of the season the racers where focused on gaining and increasing their points in the chase for the championship cup.

Beginner Box Stocks – Aidan Daniels #14 (Fort Bragg) set fast time with a 10.699 second lap and went on to capture the feature main event for the day. Daniels older sister Kylie #34 (Fort Bragg) captured the trophy dash win and heat race win followed by a second place in the feature main event. Hunter Ashby #5b (Ukiah), Blaine Baxter #25b (Santa Rosa) and point leader Gio Martinez #18 (Sacramento) finish out your top five feature finishers.

Box Stocks – Skyler Cole #49 (Redding) set fast time with a 9.527 second lap. Kimberley Sorrels #31 (Ukiah) took home the trophy dash and heat race wins. Point leader Kaiden Butler #22k (Lakeport) went on to win the feature main event and increase his point’s lead over Sorrels in the contention for the championship title. Kyler Berry #69 (Redwood Valley), Sorrels, Cole, and Kaiden Berry #23k (Redwood Valley) round out your top five feature finishers.

250cc- Eric Nelson #10 (Lakeport) set fast time with a 8.529 second lap. Colby Johnson #38 (Penngrove) led all 10 laps of his heat race for the win. Lucas Tellstrom #9L (Ukiah) won the trophy dash and feature main event leading all 30 laps. Nelson finished a close second followed by Jeremy Doss #24c (Upper Lake), substitute driving for Mikey Camacho, Justin Bradway #12 (Fair Oaks), and Johnson finishing fifth.

500cc- Doubly duty driver Jeremy Doss #10 (Upper Lake) set fast time with a 8.614 second lap. Noel McCormack Jr #6k (Lakeport) filled in as a substitute driver for Mikey Snider and captured the trophy dash win and went on to finish fourth in the feature main event. Cameron Austin #7c (Santa Rosa) won his heat race. While James Edens #52 (Santa Rosa) captured his first feature win of the 2013 race season. Doss finished second, Michael Britton #94 (Ukiah) finished a close third, McCormack fourth and Kyle Pollock #77k (Lakeport) finishing fifth.

Sportsman- After losing the points lead last race by just six points, Keith Nelson #6 (Ukiah) has his sights set on gaining some points back by setting fast time with a 8.820 second lap. Nelson went on to win the feature main event in a borrowed kart after breaking the steering column in his during a mishap in the 500 division. Chris Mack #25 (Cloverdale) was able to hold on to his point lead and increase it to eleven points after winning the trophy dash, heat race and finishing third in the feature main event. Forrest Kuecker #79 (Lakeport) finished second.

Lakeport, CA. – Race #6 of the 2012/2013 Indoor Outlaw Go-Karting at Lakeport Speedway chase for the points championship took place last Saturday at the Lake County Fairgrounds. The first race of 2013 showed a higher kart count along with new winners, some repeat winners, and new point leaders.
In the Beginner Box Stock division Brody Petrie #2 (Napa) set a fast time with a 9.944 sec lap. Petrie also went on to collect his heat race win and the trophy dash win. Mason Smith #97 (Anderson) won his heat race and finished a close second in the feature main event to Jack Phillips #18p (Olivehurst). Phillips took home his second feature main event win of the season. Kylie Daniels #34 (Fort Bragg) finished third followed by her brother Aiden Daniels #14 (Fort Bragg) and Gio Martinez #18 (Sacramento) rounding out the top 5.
Box Stock fast time was held by Skyler Cole #49 (Redding) with a 9.359 sec lap. Cole continued on with a heat race win and the feature main event, bringing home his first win of the season. Current point leader Kaiden Butler #22k (Lakeport) won the trophy dash. Top 5 finishers include Kyler Berry #69 (Redwood Valley), Kimberely Sorrels #31 (Ukiah), Kaiden Berry #23k (Redwood Valley) and Kera Tellstrom #1k (Ukiah).
Morgan Elledge #98 (Cottonwood) held off a full field of 250’s leading all 30 laps of the feature main event to her first checkered finish of 2013. Elledge also won her heat race. Kalib Henry #12 (Citrus Heights) current points leader set fast time with an 8.458 sec lap and won his heat race. Trophy dash win went to Ren Eberhart #14 (Rohnert Park). Finishing behind Elledge in the feature main event include: Brian McGahan Jr #8jr (Corning), Henry, Colby Johnson #38 (Penngrove) and Lucas Tellstrom #9L (Ukiah).
In the 500’s action Colby Copeland #38au (Roseville) set fast time with an 8.301 sec lap. After taking the lead on lap 1 Jeremy Doss #10 (Upper Lake) continued to capture his third feature main event win of the season.  Doss also swept the day’s events winning his heat race and the trophy dash and padding his championship points lead. Cameron Austin #7c (Santa Rosa) won the 1st of two heat races for the day and finished second in the feature main event. Former NASCAR Sprint Cup crew chief Jimmy Elledge #81 wheeled his way to a third place feature finish followed by Tanner Thorson #88 (Minden, NV) and Michael Britton #94 (Ukiah).
Finishing out the day’s events with the Sportsman division saw Keith Nelson #6 (Ukiah) setting fast time with an 8.569 sec lap. Nelson won his heat race before blowing up the motor in his kart resulting in having to borrow a kart for the feature main event. Nelson was disqualified for not meeting weight requirements and had to forfeit his championship points for the race. New points leader Chris Mack #25 (Cloverdale) won the trophy dash and took over the points lead by a mere 6 points. Forrest Kuecker #79 (Lakeport) brought home his first double checkered win of the season.

Lakeport, Ca – After a week off for the holidays Indoor Outlaw Go-Karting at Lakeport Speedway returned to action for race #5 of the 2012/2013 points season. New competition resulted in new winners this week in 4 out of the 5 divisions.
Beginner Box Stock division saw an increased kart count heating up the racing action and raising the bar slightly for the drivers. Jack Phillips #18p, 6 years old from Olivehurst, set fast time with a 10.729 sec lap. Heat race wins went to Aiden Daniels #14 (Fort Bragg) and Daniel Whitley #57a (Red Bluff). Over taking the leader on lap 16, Phillips also captured his first feature main event win of the 2012/2013 race season. Top 5 finishers include Whitley, Brody Petrie, Daniels, and Mason Smith.
Continuing with the action in the Box Stock Division, a non-restricted 5hp Briggs and Stratton motor, Angelo Cornett #55x (Willows) set fast time with a 9.464 sec lap and won his first feature main event win of the 2012/2013 race season. While keeping up his 5 week in a row winning streak, Kaiden Butler #22k won the trophy dash and heat race increasing his points lead for the championship title. Rounding out the top 5 in the feature main event include Kimberly Sorrels (Ukiah), Butler (Lakeport), Wyatt Hobart (Fort Bragg), and Skyler Cole (Red Bluff).
Stepping up to the 250cc division Colby Johnson #38 (Penngrove) led all 30 laps of the feature main event for the win and collected another trophy dash win during the day. Erik Nelson #10 (Lakeport) set fast time with an 8.620 sec lap during his 5 lap qualifying session. Heat race wins include Ren Eberhart #14 (Rohnert Park) and Kalib Henry #12 Citrus Heights. Henry finished in a close second followed by Eberhart, Morgan Elledge and Mikey Camacho.
Increasing his points lead with another feature main event win and fast time, Jeremy Doss #10 (Upper Lake) won his third feature main event of the season. Half way through the season Doss leads over Justin Kaye #21 by a mere 16 points. At this point it is still anyone’s title to take. Buddy Kofoid #11 (Penngrove) won the trophy dash and his heat race but was later disqualified for not meeting weight requirements, resulting in Mikey Snider #6k (Kelseyville) capturing a heat race win. Cameron Austin #7c (Santa Rosa) won the second heat race of the day. Ending the race after a severe flip and multi kart pile up on lap 28 Doss was announced the victor over Snider followed by James Edens, Ren Eberhart, and Kaye.
Finishing out the day’s event with the Sportsman division Keith Nelson #6 (Ukiah) set fast time with an 8.813 sec lap. Chris Mack #25 (Cloverdale) won the trophy dash and Forrest Kuecker #79 (Upper Lake) took the heat race win. First time winner Darin Snider #2k (Kelseyville) stepped in as a replacement driver for Curtis Trujillo after taking a hard hit in the heat race, wheeled his kart to a first place feature main event win.

Lakeport, Ca – Race #4 of the 2012-2013 Indoor Outlaw Go-Karting at Lakeport Speedway kicked off with a day full of action packed open wheeled racing last Saturday. Cool winter temperatures didn’t slow down the hot racing action. The chance of snow met no match for the determined racers as they gathered from all areas of Northern California to the Lake County Fairgrounds to compete in the chase for the championship title.
Beginner Box Stocks, racing a 5hp Briggs and Stratton motor with a restrictor plate, saw a new feature winner last Saturday. Daniel Whitley, 9 years old (Red Bluff) #57a raced his way to the front of the field of karts to capture his first heat race win and feature win. Kylie Daniels (Fort Bragg) #34 stayed on Whitley’s rear bumper all day, to finish a close second in the heat race and feature main event, but held of Whitley to win the trophy dash for the second time this season. Gio Martinez (Sacramento) #17j captured fast time with an 11.235 second lap. Rounding out the top 5 finishers include in third place Aidan Daniels (Fort Bragg), Martinez, Blaine Baxter (Santa Rosa), and Lane Anderson (Fort Bragg).
Repeating a clean sweep, Kaiden Butler (Lakeport) #22k, took the lead on the last lap of the feature main event and widened his championship points lead over Kimberly Sorrels (Ukiah) #31. After pitting on lap 22 of a 25 lap race for a motor issue, Butler was able to overcome the field of karts during the three remaining laps to take the checkered flag in first place. Setting fast time with a 9.943 second lap, Butler also won the Box Stock trophy dash, heat race and feature main event.
In the 250cc division, Lucas Tellstrom (Ukiah) #9L set fast time with an 8.734 second lap. The division saw a handful of new faces in the winner’s circle. Jodie Robinson (Foresthill) won the trophy dash, while Mikey Camacho (Lakeport) #24c won the heat race. Kalib Henry (Orangevale) #12 won his second straight feature main event of the season. Henry, son of legendary driver Mike Henry, current leads the points in the chase for the championship. Top five finishers included Camacho in second followed by Tellstrom, Erik Nelson (Lakeport), and Colby Johnson (Penngrove).
Also back to back repeat winner Mikey Snider (Kelseyville) 6k set fast time, 8.826 second lap, won the trophy dash and feature main event in the 500cc division. After over taking Keith Nelson (Ukiah) #6 on lap 13 Snider lead the full field of karts to a double checkered flag finish. Heat race wins went to Jeremy Doss (Upper Lake) #10 and Chase Johnson (Penngrove) #24. Johnson, Petaluma Speedway’s 2012 Sprint Car Champion, retired after a lap 3 crash resulting in an injured elbow. Johnson hopes to return in 2013. We wish him a speedy recovery. Other top finishers in the main event were Michael Britton (Ukiah) #94, Justin Kaye (Ukiah) #21, Kirt Organ (Napa) #35, and Keith Nelson (Ukiah) #6.
Last but not least in the Sportsman division, Keith Nelson #6 also showed a repeat win. Setting fast time with an 8.886 second lap Nelson drove his way to a first place feature main event win for the third week in a row. The Sportsman division, newest to Lakeport Speedway, regulates drivers to 25 years old and older. Jeremy Donahoo (Cloverdale) #05 stated, “Racing an Indoor Outlaw Go-Kart during the winter months has helped keep me in shape mentally and physically as I prepare for the 2013 asphalt Late Model racing season.” Donahoo, a rookie go-kart racer, won his first heat race win. Trophy dash winner Clay Caturegli (Cloverdale) #55 also uses his karting experience to prepare for his asphalt racing season.

Lakeport, Ca. – As the sun shined last Saturday the racers prepared for race number three of the 2012/2013 Indoor Outlaw Go-Karting at Lakeport Speedway. Making the trek from all areas of Northern California and ranging in age from 5 years old in the Beginner Box Stock division all the way up to grown adults racing in the Sportsman division, the racing action was an event not to miss.

At a mere 6 years old, Gio Martinez #17 from Sacramento set a blistering fast time of 10.851 for the Beginner Box Stock division and winning the trophy dash. Holding off Martinez in the heat race and main event 8 year old Aidan Daniels #14 from Fort Bragg captured his first feature win for the 2012/2013 race season. Rounding out the top five finishers include Martinez, Kylie Daniels (Fort Bragg), Daniel Whitley (Red Bluff), and Blaine Baxter (Santa Rosa).
Moving up a division from the Beginner Box Stocks into a Box Stock, Kaiden Butler #22 from Lakeport drove his way to his third feature win while capturing a clean sweep of the day’s events. Setting fast time with a 9.567sec lap and winning the trophy dash, heat race, and main event Butler is a force to be reckon with. Finishing close behind Butler included Jayden Bartlett (Yuba City), Kimberly Sorrels (Ukiah), Carlee Austin (Santa Rosa) and Buster Christensen (Covelo).
The 250cc’s saw a variety of new winners this week. Setting fast time with an 8.513sec lap Kalib Henry #12 from Citrus Heights also powered his open wheel go-kart to his first feature win of the season. Colby Johnson #38 from Santa Rosa is living up to his family’s racing name and took home the trophy dash win of the day. Lucas Tellstrom #9L of Ukiah also went home with a heat race win. Top five finishers also include Johnson, Mikey Camacho (Lakeport), Tellstrom, and Jodie Robinson (Foresthill).
When the beast’s of the 500cc division hit the track there wasn’t a quiet moment. The action started with Cameron Austin #7c from Santa Rosa setting a fast time of 8.484sec lap, the fastest yet this season. Jeremy Doss #10 of Upper Lake took home his second trophy dash win while Mikey Snider #6k (Kelseyville) and Chase Johnson #24 (Santa Rosa) captured heat race wins. Snider held off a full field of karts for 30 laps to lead every lap for a double checkered feature win. Finishing nose to tail behind Snider, included Justin Kaye (Redwood Valley), Austin, Johnson, and Keith Nelson (Ukiah).
Racing in two divisions Keith Nelson #6 took home his second main event win in a row. Setting fast time with an 8.677sec lap Nelson added weight to his kart to meet specifications for the upper division and won the trophy dash also. Asphalt Late Model champion Forrest Kuecker of Upper Lake slid across the start finish line for his first heat race win in an Outlaw Go-Kart.

Lakeport, Ca. – Race number two of the 2012/2013 Indoor Outlaw Go-Karting of Lakeport Speedway kicked off last Saturday, featuring drivers from all over Northern California. Drivers range from age 5 years old in the Beginner Box Stock division all the way up to grown adults racing in the Sportsman division.

Rookie driver Aidan Daniels #14 from Fort Bragg set fast time in the Beginner Box Stock division his first time ever racing an Outlaw Go-Kart. Daniels sister, Kylie #34, raced her way through the field to capture a trophy dash and main event win during her racing debut. Gio Martinez #17j from Sacramento weaved his way through lapped traffic to capture his first heat race win.
Stepping up from Beginner Box Stocks into the Box Stock division, after capturing a 2011/2012 Indoor Championship, local driver Kaiden Butler #22k captured fast time, a trophy dash win, and the feature main event win. Heat race winner included Kaiden Berry #23k from Redwood Valley.
In the 250cc division the action continued. Kalib Henry #12 from Citrus Heights came out on top of the charts with his first fast time of the 2012/2013 Indoor Series. Also first time winner Cody Winchel from Santa Rosa took home a trophy dash win, while Colby Johnson #38 Santa Rosa won the heat race and Jeremy Doss #24c captured the feature main event win.
Racing his 450cc 4-stroke go-kart, Jeremy Doss #10 from Upper Lake powered through the field of the 500cc division to capture his second feature main event win of the night. Heat race win went to Justin Kaye #21 from Redwood Valley and the trophy dash was won by Doss.
Last but not least the Sportsman Division consisting of driver over the age of 25 years old. Ukiah native Keith Nelson #6 dominated the day’s events. Setting fast time, winning his heat race, and capturing his first go-kart main event win, Nelson held out for a grueling 25 laps consisting of two red flags for flipped karts on the track.
